As many of you know, Dr. Driscoll has been a member of the executive committee of the Niagara Chiropractic Society (NCS) for 2 years. He is leading a very important initiative on behalf of the NCS to bring Chiropractic Care to the poor in the form of a Volunteer Chiropractic Program at Quest Community Health Centre in St. Catharines (see questchc.ca). There are several important goals of this Program. The primary objective is to serve our community. The NCS is trying to ease the burden of musculoskeletal pain for vulnerable sectors of our society that could never afford Chiropractic care in the first place.
This Program was developed with the intention of spreading across Ontario in as many Community Health Centres (CHCs) as possible. As there are currently 101 Community Health Centres, the Chiropractic profession has the potential to help thousands of Ontarians. Dr. Driscoll and many of his colleagues agree that the multidisciplinary team-based approach to healthcare that is found in the CHCs is strengthened by input from Chiropractors.
After the culmination of hundreds of hours of work by Dr. Driscoll and the NCS executive committee members we are beginning the Volunteer Chiropractic Program at Quest on June 19, 2013. It is indeed an exciting time for the NCS and Chiropractic in the Niagara region.
